ALT. Fragrances sell vegan perfume – USA - approved and cruelty-free. But what does that actually mean? You probably know exactly what it means to eat a vegan diet, but how does that translate into wearing a fragrance?

Well, Here’s more information...

First Things First Is Cologne and Perfume Vegan ?

When it comes to being vegan, unfortunately, the perfume industry has been a little slow to catch up. Most of the time you won’t see many obviously animal-derived ingredients in fragrances, but there are a few traditional non-vegan products that often make the cut – such as civet (its excretions are used in perfumes), ambergris (a discarded product of a sperm whale!) and musk (traditionally made from the musk glands of a deer).

Some perfume makers will not list the full range of ingredients inside their products. This is perfectly within the law, but makes it tricky for you to identify exactly what’s in it. If in doubt, inquire on what is in the fragrance. Noe keep in mind, some vegan perfume-makers will promote their practices, while others choose not to. Remember, just because they don’t shout about it, doesn’t mean they’re not vegan!

Vegan Cologne

So, is perfume vegan? The short and easy answer is, yes, most of the time it is, however, it’s always a good idea to double check if you want to stay true to your lifestyle. If you’re purchasing a designer fragrance from a well-known perfume house, they may use real ambergris for example, which is not at all vegan-friendly.

Vegan Fragrances

All our vegan fragrance options have been inspired by some of the world’s most famous scents. For example, our version of Aventus features many of the same ingredients as the original and the vast majority of our customers agree that they can hardly tell the difference between the two.
