Simply Noir lies between the border of modernity and antiquity. Opening with a strong note of tea, sweet fig, and bergamot all with a slight supporting cedar wood undertone. Moving on to the early heart, the aromatic black tea accord depends, taking on a mildly smoky Tobac-like faucet blended with the underlying smell of wood. As Simply Noir dries down the gears shift as the aromatic tea accord vacates musk, gentle vetiver, and a touch of vanilla begin to appear to finish.

I compared the tester to The Noir 29 by Le Labo and after a few minutes of sitting on the skin, the ALT version smelled almost indistinguishable! Super happy with this product.
But in this case, I'll make an exception. I've never done a 1:1 comparison with the original (Le Labo The Noir 29), but this is an absolutely wonderful and surprisingly "neutral" fragrance. Day, night, blue collar days, office days, it's light but deep, it's "sharp" but "round" (it's both "blue" *and* "brown" and it passes through "green" if that's more your language). And it lasts like few other fragrances I've ever tried. On in the morning after a shower and I can still clearly catch the scent before I jump in the shower the next morning.
And what a scent - Any passing whiff seems so simple. But to really concentrate on it reveals so many notes and so much complexity. There's a lot going on here - but it plays together like the tones in a well-crafted song.
It is a bit forward - not necessarily in a bad way, but one spritz is plenty - I don't want it to invade, I want it to be discovered. More importantly, the wife thinks it's "nice." And believe me, that's a huge compliment. MOST importantly, *I* think it's nice. Quite nice.

This is my second Alt. fragrance to purchase. I am absolutely amazed at how close my two fragrances are to the inspiration products. I love the quality of the products, the packaging, delivery and everything about these fragrances. I will definitely continue shopping!

This is like 95% of the way to being an exact replica of Thé Noir. The scent is rich and complex, and the black tea note shines through beautifully. The only noticeable difference to me is a slightly lower longevity (still quite long lasting), smaller sillage, and one slightly harsher note that I can’t quite identify. If you’re like me and you have a taste for Le Labo but don’t have Le Labo money, this is a great buy.

I’ve received many compliments on this perfume! I don’t think it’s quite as strong, so I use four sprays instead of two but it’s still a lot less expensive than Le Labo!
