Inspired by Gabrielle, Elle is a clean-cut, crisp, fresh white floral with tart grapefruit and Ylang Ylang, on a woody/musky base. This was a blind buy. I bought the trio deal for $99. All Chanel fragrances - Fortuna (Chance), Mistress (Coco Mademoiselle), and Elle (Gabrielle). My absolute fav fragrance is Chanel Chance, and I already knew I loved Coco Mademoiselle. So, those dupes did not disappoint. I, unfortunately, have never smelled Gabrielle. I wanted to love this scent. I have loved every ALT scent so far. And, I'm sure this a great dupe - but, I do not LIKE this scent. The scent originally sprayed out of the bottle is gagging, but I was hoping once it absorbed into my skin and had a chance to settle it would be lovely. No, it's gross. It's like my grandma lost her perfume, and I found it 10 years later and doused myself with it. I also read the notes and that tracks. It's nothing ALT did wrong. I just do not like Chanel Gabrielle and likewise ALT Elle. C'mon Chanel?

As a person who is mildly obsessed with fragrances, ALT seems like the best thing ever. I had been getting ads on my socials for a while so I finally caved and ordered 5 of their perfumes. Among those Elle was the only fragrance I was familiar with beforehand. While it is not an exact copy of Gabrielle, it is definitely heavily inspired by it. Given the difference is the price tags of the two, I would definitely pick the ALT version over the real thing in 99% of cases.
